32 Weeks

…and all is well.

Oh, and by the way, the Pregnancy Website that compares fruit and vegies to your weight says you are now about the size of a large Jicama (hee-kah-mah)!

In case, like me you are thinking what the heck is a Jicama, it’s a Mexican root vegetable (grows on a very poisonous vine) that looks to me just like a huge yellow turnip with white inside! It’s root can attain lengths of up to 2m and weigh up to 20 kilos! 20 kilos? I’m not telling Erin her baby now weighs the equivalent to a large Jicama – she’ll faint! And surprisingly you eat it raw – sometimes with salt, lemon or lime juice and powdered chilli! Reminds me *shudder* of that other Mexican tradition!

Oops, I’ve turned this post into a vegetable lesson! Just quickly, you use Jicama’s in stirfried dishes and soups too!

Edited to add:

I couldn’t resist and peeked – Week 39 they politely say you weigh the size of a MINI watermelon!! Who are they trying to kid? A watermelon is a watermelon!

So…

Week 40 is a bloody HUGE watermelon – Nah, just kidding.. ..would you believe it’s a SMALL (there they go again trying to be polite about it) Pumpkin!? So there we have it girls, it’s official – we give birth to *cringe* Pumpkins !
